Booksy Handles Bookings. Something Still Has to Answer Questions

A barber chair and a phone with unanswered client messages

If your shop runs on Booksy, the regulars are handled. They open the app, pick a time, get a reminder, show up. That part works.

The part that does not work is everyone who has not booked yet. New clients do not start in Booksy — they start in your DMs, on your website, or in a text to the number on your Google listing. And they start with a question, not a booking.

The questions that come before the booking

Go through your inbox from last month. The first message is almost never “I would like to book”. It is:

  • “How much for a beard trim and a fade?”
  • “Do you have anyone free around 7 tonight?”
  • “My son is four, do you cut kids?”
  • “Do you do silk press, locs, a taper on curly hair?”
  • “Where do I park?”

Every one of these has a correct answer that already exists. None of them requires you to stop working — unless you are the only one who can give it.

What an AI receptionist does with them

It reads your site and answers those questions in the client’s own words, at 11 PM on a Sunday, in whatever language they wrote in. When the person is ready, it hands over your Booksy page. When they leave a phone number, the lead reaches you immediately — email and Telegram.

Two rules make it usable rather than embarrassing:

  1. It answers only from your data. Your price list says 45 dollars, it says 45 dollars. If your site does not mention kids’ cuts, it says it does not know and asks you — once. Your answer becomes part of what it knows.
  2. It says it is an AI. Clients are told plainly who they are talking to. Nobody discovers it halfway through.

Where we stand with Booksy today: we are not integrated with it. The receptionist answers questions around the clock and sends the client to your Booksy page; it does not read your Booksy calendar or create the appointment inside it. A partnership request is on our 2027 plan. With Square Appointments the direct integration comes first.

Why this matters more than another marketing channel

Most shops do not have a traffic problem. They have an answer-speed problem: the person who replies first usually gets the client, and small shops are busy with their hands. An AI receptionist does not bring you new people — it keeps the ones who already found you and would otherwise drift to the shop that answered.

Try it on your own shop

Send your website link. In about thirty seconds you get a page with a receptionist built from your own content. Ask it the five questions above. If the answers are right, add the widget to your site and the bot in Telegram; your Booksy stays exactly where it is.
